Book an experience with me!
I am currently helping the owners of 'Celeste of Solent' fill their boat with crew for the Sint Maarten Heineken Regatta. Let's go sailing!
Event Overview
The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta has been a highlight of Caribbean sailing for over 40 years, renowned for its perfect mix of competitive racing and 'serious fun.' This four-day event attracts world-class sailors from over 35 countries, offering idyllic turquoise waters and steady trade winds in the Northeast Caribbean—making it a true paradise for sailors.
What's included
€2,750 - Covers all three professional crew, boat and race costs, and meals during racing.
Additional expenses: flights, transfers, accommodation ashore, meals off the boat, and personal insurance.
Experience Level
This experience is open to sailors of varying skill levels. The professional skipper specialises in assembling crews with diverse experience levels, ensuring everyone has an active role in racing the yacht.
Location & Accommodation
Held in Sint Maarten, the smallest inhabited island divided between two nations, the French and the Dutch. This unique dual-nationality gives the island its distinct character. Exceptional sailing conditions, a vibrant race village, excellent marinas, and lively shore activities make this an ideal regatta destination.
Onboard berths are available during the regatta.

About Locky
Sailquest; a journey into Offshore Racing
Sailquest for me represents my ambition to explore bigger oceans, sail faster yachts and share the amazing experiences with others.
Busy 2025 Calendar
Building on my visits to the Rolex Middle Sea Race and ARC Transat in 2024, I'm heading to Lanzarote for the RORC Transatlantic Race. My Caribbean circuit includes:
  • The Caribbean 600
  • The Sint Maarten Heineken Regatta
  • The St Barths bucket
I'll also attend the Odyssey Sailing Festival in the British Virgin Islands while in the Caribbean.
Later in 2025, I'll compete in the Gotland Runt and go to the 100th Fastnet Race, while sailing my 36-foot yacht in Swedish waters between events.
These races will strengthen my offshore racing network and advance my goal of establishing a successful race charter business.
Professional Background
As a project manager with 25 years of experience across property development, high-tech manufacturing, and scientific research - I combine a methodological approach with proven expertise in team building and complex problem-solving to produce results.
Personal drive
Following open-heart bypass surgery in March 2024, I had an epiphany — there is no tomorrow. That led to me do more offshore sailing, create Sailquest and start to transform my sailing passion into a new career path.
Sailing Experience
My sailing journey began at age seven in dinghies and evolved into two decades of keel yacht experience across the Baltic Sea, Pacific, Mediterranean, and Atlantic. This extensive background combined with my leadership abilities helps me to create environments where fellow crew feel welcome and engaged while sailing. I am never happier than when on a boat contributing and taking care of people aboard.
Future Vision
By developing a race charter business, I aim to leverage my seamanship and leadership skills to create exceptional offshore racing experiences, inspiring others to pursue their sailing dreams.
